The end of February 2023 was a remarkable occasion for those looking for the hottest trends shaping the mobile and adjacent industries. We are discussing the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the world’s most extensive annual trade shows focusing on mobile technologies.
After two challenging years of the global outbreak, MWC was expected to return in full force and take in-person meetings to a new level. These expectations came true as exhibitors and attendees saw crowded aisles and brisk booth traffic.
Our Geomotiv team was glad to be part of an exciting offline convention. We wandered the floor, met old contacts and conducted invaluable networking sessions that would be otherwise impossible in the online-first world.
In this piece, we’d like to provide a bit of everything there is to know about Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress and share our insights regarding the event.
What’s Mobile World Congress?
MWC unites mobile and connectivity industry players and thought leaders, including hardware manufacturers, mobile operators, and other specialists in the connectivity ecosystem. It also encourages speakers, partners, and sponsors to join the event. They meet once a year in Barcelona to discuss present and future trends, showcase the latest innovations and define the industry’s shape for the coming years.
This year, the exhibition floor welcomed almost 90,000 attendees from 202 countries and territories. The estimated 2,400 exhibitors, from Enterprise-level to startup companies, showcased their innovations in well-organized pavilions within the Fira Gran Via conference center and other venues around Barcelona. Some exhibitors included Google, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and other well-known Enterprise names.
Over 1,000 speakers performed at virtual and physical sessions, debate roundtables, and mini-conferences this year. They took to the stage the most trending topics around 5G, 6G, quantum computing, immersive technologies, digitalization, IoT, and many others.
Why MWC Barcelona was special for Geomotiv
MWC Barcelona was an important event for our team to increase our company’s visibility, connect with prospects, nurture leads, and take business development to the next level. Besides, our participation in the event gave us an understanding of where the mobile and telco industries are heading.
While in Barcelona, our team met with a couple of pre-booked contacts and had productive discourses. They met old contacts we got to know in previous events and had the chance to chat and discuss cooperation opportunities.
Overall, our team spent five exciting days of their lives in Barcelona as we reached and exceeded our networking goals. MWC is undoubtedly the go-to place for discovering the hottest mobile industry trends and connecting like-minded people from different countries and territories.
