About the Client

Digital Rights Network (DRN) is a startup that builds a new PropTech infrastructure that turns physical spaces into programmable assets. The platform lets property owners register real-world locations as digital inventory and control how these spaces are used in media environments. Brands, media companies, and creators can then access these locations to launch immersive advertising campaigns, 3D content, and digital experiences.

DRN has registered more than 20,000 properties in 8 countries, with real estate firms such as Colliers, Jamestown, and BXP on the network.

Background and Challenges

DRN’s PropTech business model depends on the blockchain layer. It is the platform’s core engine that ties physical properties to a digital asset, records rights ownership, transfers those rights between parties, and handles monetization in AR/3D environments.

At the start of the project, this layer existed as an experimental prototype. It proved the idea of the PropTech blockchain infrastructure worked, but it was not ready to run in production. To get there, the blockchain layer needed to:

  • scale to real market volume,
  • hold up against security threats,
  • connect with external systems.

Goals

DRN aimed to bring the PropTech blockchain layer into live use, with real assets and buyers, and make it the part of core platform infrastructure. On that foundation, physical locations become digital inventory that owners can manage, monetize, and trust, with clear ownership, transparency, and traceability.

The project focused on making the layer:

  • record ownership of digital assets and map physical properties to their digital form,
  • manage rights to use locations in AR and 3D environments,
  • support transactions such as rights transfers and auction participation,
  • open a monetization path through NFTs and revenue participation.

As a fast-moving startup, DRN needed to validate this model in real-world conditions. Speed mattered, but so did the ability to support real platform usage without breakdowns.

Solution

Geomotiv matched DRN with a senior blockchain specialist from our talent pool and provided an account manager to coordinate the engagement. The developer worked directly with the client’s team and became part of their workflow early on. He brought in ideas around architecture, auction logic, and security, helping the team move forward with clearer decisions and fewer bottlenecks.

The scope of work included:

  • analysis of the PropTech blockchain layer to map the gaps ahead of the v2.x platform release,
  • refactoring of the code for performance and maintainability,
  • updates to meet the revised property-anchoring specifications,
  • rework of authentication, authorization, and signing for walletless integrations through Fireblocks and EIP-1271,
  • security guidelines and best practices for integrating the back-end with external systems,
  • participation in definition sessions for new blockchain requirements supporting the DRN Auction Platform, covering ownership transfer, bidding logic, and NFT-based revenue participation.

Client Quote

“I had the pleasure of working with Geomotiv during my tenure as CTO at Digital Rights Network. Throughout our collaboration, Geomotiv consistently proved to be a reliable and highly professional partner.

My experience with them centered on recruiting talent for high-risk blockchain development projects. They presented an outstanding selection of candidates who closely matched our technical and business requirements, managed the interview process efficiently, and made the hiring process seamless. The contractual and legal negotiations were also handled professionally and without unnecessary complexity.

Based on my experience, I would not hesitate to work with Geomotiv again or recommend them to organizations looking for a dependable technology and recruitment partner.

A special thanks goes to Tamuna Basaria, whose professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication made the entire process smooth from start to finish. She was an exceptional point of contact and a pleasure to work with throughout our engagement.”

CTO at DRN

Results

The blockchain layer moved from an experimental component to a core element of the DRN platform. It now supports walletless interactions, enabling ownership transfer, auctions, and revenue participation flows. The platform is ready to launch an innovative PropTech blockchain infrastructure where physical spaces operate as programmable digital inventory.
